From Declaration to Action: How Can Creative Cities Incorporate the MONDIACULT Declaration into Urban Governance, Planning, and Policymaking?
On Sep 30, UNESCO Creative Cities will gather in Barcelona to present a panel at Mondiacult 2025, the world's largest conference on cultural policy.
At the 2024 UCCN Annual Conference, political leaders from Creative Cities gathered to sign the Braga Manifesto, a powerful declaration that deepens our commitment to the MONDIACULT 2022 Declaration. This manifesto marks a pivotal moment in embedding culture as a guiding force in urban development, shaping the Pact for the Future 2024 and the post-2030 development agenda. The manifesto emphasizes the vital role cities play in advancing innovative cultural policies, placing culture at the heart of sustainable development and social inclusion.
Join us for a dynamic panel discussion where we’ll explore how Creative Cities are driving the implementation of the MONDIACULT Declaration. With a focus on cultural diplomacy, international collaboration, and the protection of cultural rights, panelists will share inspiring case studies and real-world examples of how the Braga Manifesto is transforming local and national landscapes through the Creative Cities Network.
