Der Film zeigt exemplarisch an drei Beispielen (Tier in Not, Tanklasterunfall im Stadtverkehr, Brand in einem Wohnhaus), wo Schwerpunkte von Feuerwehreinsätzen in der Großstadt liegen und wie man sich in einem Notfall an die Feuerwehr wendet. Er gibt auch Einblick in die organisatorische Bewältigung ihrer Aufgaben. Das persönliche Engagement, das der Beruf des Feuerwehrmannes erfordert, wird deutlich.

The film uses three examples (an animal in distress, a tanker accident in city traffic and a fire in a residential building) to illustrate the main aspects of fire department operations in the city and how to contact the fire department in an emergency. It also provides an insight into the organizational management of their tasks. The personal commitment that a firefighter's job requires becomes clear.
