🍞 No-Knead Sandwich Bread (1 Loaf)
Ingredients
2½ cups plain/all-purpose flour
1½ tsp salt
1¼ tsp instant yeast
1 tbsp sugar (white or honey works too)
½ cup warm water
½ cup warm milk
2½ tbsp unsalted butter, melted or very soft
Mix wet ingredients
Pour in warm water, warm milk, melted butter, yeast and sugar.
Mix together
Add dry ingredients
Add flour and salt. Mix with a wooden spoon or your hand until everything comes together into a shaggy dough.
Rest
Cover and let the dough rest for 30 minutes to hydrate.
Stretch and fold
With wet hands, gently stretch the dough and fold it over itself few times, rotating the bowl each time, until it forms a smoother ball.
First rise
Cover and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Shape
Lightly punch down the dough, then flatten and roll it into a loaf shape. Place it into a greased loaf pan.
Second rise
Cover and let it rise until puffy, about 30–45 minutes.
Bake
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 30–35 minutes, until golden brown.
Finish:
Optional — brush the hot loaf with a little melted butter for a soft, shiny crust.
Cool
Let it cool at least 30 minutes before slicing (if you can wait!) 😅❤️
