Harry Potter Christmas tree ornament DIY Tutorial

Here’s my Harry Potter Christmas tree! It’s not the most ornate tree. It’s quite simple, but I tried to choose things that would stand out on the tree, and keep to a color scheme of red gold silver and white. I wanted the ornaments to be iconic and recognizable to even the muggles of the family and visitors and wanted to create rhythm by repeating ornaments through the tree, so I have about 5 of each ornament: the snitch ornament, the deathly hallows ornament, and the lightning bolt ornament. And 3 of the hedwig ornaments. I wish I had more room though! Next year I am definitely upgrading to a larger tree so I can make some Hogwarts letters and 9&3/4 signs. It could really use more red! What do you think?

The scarf is what really makes it pop though. If you want to make a scarf for your tree it’s a single crochet with 8 stitches per row and 10 rows per color. My tree is 4 feet and I use a 15 foot scarf. If you had a 6 foot tree michaels arts and crafts tree decorating guide suggests a 30 ft garland, so Pull out the movies for a marathon! 😂. I found a cheap Christmas train for 10 bucks at Walmart! I’m currently painting it into the Hogwarts express and will share when I’m done!
