These were my consecutive personal best laps at CMP in my ND Miata on 11/3/24. As you can hear toward the end of the video on upshifts, the input shaft seal had finally leaked enough gear oil on the clutch to start slipping pretty badly. The 0.1 second delta from my optimal lap was entirely from turn 14 (the final turn) to the start/finish line because of the slip on the 2-3 shift. Thankfully it still held out for these two laps! On the very next lap it slipped so badly mid-turn 5 that it acted as though I lifted off and I spun the car as a result. Still a fun weekend!
