Tomahawk Roundhouse Trap April 10 and 11 2023

This is the first time I tried using the Tomahawk roundhouse trap without also having a regular Tomahawk gravity box trap out in the same location. The other two times I managed to catch the cat with the gravity trap.

So two days ago I had both my traps out and I caught the black cat that I was looking for with the gravity trap, and then I returned him when I saw he wasn't really the cat I was looking for. I still had the roundhouse trap out there and you can see with this video how they reacted. The short hair black cat is the one I caught the day before and released. The black and white one is all over the neighborhood and both of them didn't go all the way in but were eating the bait food I put on the floor and then they backed out. The long hair black cat, I am also familiar with, and she went all the way in. You can see at the end of the video how that worked out.

I'm thinking I shouldn't put food on the floor with this kind of trap anymore. Also wondering if the trap is too small.
