Route: Tyne Valley Line
Wylam Station (WYM)
Crossing type: Manually Controlled Barrier crossing (MCB)
Filming location: Station Road, Wylam (NE41 8HR)
A couple of videos featuring Northern services seen at the level crossing in between the staggered platforms of the delightful Wylam Station on the Tyne Valley Line, overlooked by the pretty and unique-looking signal box from where it is controlled - one which sits directly above the line it controls. There's a fairly standard crossing in terms of set-up, alarm sound, and equipment here, and the River Tyne flows underneath the bridge just past the crossing. The platforms are staggered here, but in the way that stopping trains have to perform station duties before crossing over.
