A ramp, seamlessly integrated into the structure, provides accessibility while reinforcing inclusivity. Anandaloy not only serves people with disabilities but also supports economic independence by housing a textile workshop where local women produce handmade garments. Beyond Bangladesh, Heringer has extended her sustainable design ethos to China, particularly in the rural village of Baoxi. There, she collaborated with artisans to create bamboo and rammed earth hostels. These structures emphasize passive design principles, utilizing earthen walls for insulation and bamboo screens for ventilation. By celebrating traditional craftsmanship and demonstrating the viability of vernacular techniques in modern applications, these hostels showcase sustainable tourism development within China’s evolving rural landscape.

Heringer’s commitment to community-driven architecture has also reached Africa, where she has applied her principles to an ecological school in Morocco. Built using traditional rammed earth techniques with contemporary innovations, the school functions as an educational and cultural hub. It highlights the durability and adaptability of local materials while involving the community in its construction.
