wound

"wound" is an animation that i worked on for my senior exhibition showcase at the university of south carolina beaufort. using the animation skills that i had learned over the last few years, i wanted to create an animation that showcased my interests as well as replicate the mood of a electronic show (hence why i went for the flashing lights).

originally, "wound" was projected on a wall in a room that was completely dark and had chairs set up for people to view the animation, which was inspired by an exhibit that i saw at MoMA in los angeles last summer. i wanted to go for something like this, as i wanted the animation to be more of an "experience" than just something that someone saw in a gallery space and walks away from it after viewing it for a few seconds and during the time that "wound" was shown, i believed that i achieved what i had strived for.

i want to give a special thanks to marks (check out his soundcloud, he is one of my favorite artists right now -   / wldmarks  ) for allowing me to use his music, as i believed his music perfectly set the mood and tone that i was going for in the animation. i'm also super grateful that marks wanted to be involved in this, because he's been one of the few people that's been there for my art stuff since day one and that's something that i've been very thankful for.

i'm super satisfied with "wound" and the reception that i've gotten for it so far and i can't wait to see what comes next
