I was recently asked in the comments of one of my videos some good questions regarding my engine build and some other details about the car. I began to answer those questions but then decided that they could be better answered in a video. So I put together this walk down memory lane for me, sprinkled with a little bit of Pontiac Fiero history. I actually had a great deal of fun making this video and going through old pictures and videos of the many experiences I have had with this car, and to be honest this video only scratches the surface. In 12 plus years of ownership there is lot to cover, and I limited this video primarily to the modifications and failures over the years. So if that sounds interesting then sit back and enjoy, if not then stay tuned, there will be more wrench turning content to come later.
The final engine build information for the car is as follows.
1986 Pontiac L44 2.8L block, bored .030 over
Aluminum hypereutectic .030 over sized bore pistons
Engine Tech Street cam, Matches specs for Edelbrock 3790 Camshaft
Comp Cams 1.6 ratio roller rockers
Ported and polished stock iron heads
Edelbrock Torker 2 60* v6 intake manifold, Part No. 3785 & 3789
Fitech 400HP self learning stand alone TBI, Part No. 30003-1
West Coast Fieros "Shorty" headers with DEI header wrap
