STREET PHOTOGRAPHY INTERVIEW with Mark Dempster

In this second edition of my street photographer interview series, we look at the work of Toronto Street Photographer Mark Dempster.

I first noticed Mark’s work on Instagram earlier last year and thought he was doing some fantastic work. We later connected and met up for a street shoot this past summer.
Mark is a Paramedic and has a young family, but even with his very busy lifestyle, still finds time to go out and make street photographs every single day. He believes it’s important to always have a camera with you, ready for when that situation arises to make the image. We see plenty of Mark’s work here and get a sense of how he works and what moves him to shoot on the street. I hope you enjoy it!

With street photography, my goal is to enjoy the process in an open and honest way, to make connections with strangers while making their portrait as well as capturing candid moments of every day life on the street.
