I'm beginning a new series of videos based on some of my walks around Columbus OH and other places. I will post these at least once a week.
This one is a bit short, and focuses on a classic local South Side eatery known as Dan's Drive-In.
This place has a 1950s vibe and has been around for decades. In fact, I can remember back in the late 1960s, when my dad took my mom and us to Columbus (we lived in Groveport at the time), and on the way back, stopped to eat at Dan's. At the time they had an awning in the parking lot where you could have a waitress come out, take your order, go back in and shortly bring the order out on a tray.
Later, when we moved to Columbus women at the place I worked at would go every Friday after closing time to have their dinner there. These days it's principally open till around 2:30-3PM, and the awning service is long gone. But as you can see as I go by the place, the 50s vibe is definitely still there.
Stay tuned for the next Walk, and thanks for watching!
