Lawyer David Seide reacts to key court moments in VOA lawsuits

On Thursday (4/17), the District Court in Washington, DC, heard arguments from both plaintiffs and defendants in two key cases: Widakuswara v. Lake and Abramowitz v. Lake, during a preliminary injunction hearing.

The legal battle began after the Trump administration issued an executive order in mid-March that effectively dismantled VOA. As a result, 1,350 journalists were placed on administrative leave, and VOA has been off the air ever since.

VOA journalists, represented by Seide, are seeking to restore the organization and return to their roles in service of truthful, independent journalism.
