The skyline of Hong Kong is really impressive. Due to the position as an important financial center, and the lack of space for residential buildings, Hong Kong has more skyscrapers then any other city in the world. As one of the densest place in the world, the majority of all office, residential and hotel buildings are all scraping the sky. After dark, many of the skyscrapers are illuminated not only in different colours, but also shifting colours frequently, making the skyline really beautiful at night. There is a special light show called Symphony of Lights, when the skyscrapers on Hong Kong Island are flashing and illuminated in different colours and green lasers are rotating from the top of their roofs, all accompanied by music. It can be seen from Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade on the south shores of Kowloon at 8PM every evening. It last 14 minutes each time and has been going on since 2004. During special holidays, there are fireworks on the rooftops. However, during our visit, its was very foggy, there were not as many illuminations of the skyscrapers as usual and the music was very low and not as impressive as expected. Still beautiful, but we had very high expectations since it is the world's largest permanent light and sound show.
