This is a maximum performance takeoff of an Embraer ERJ145 from Central Wisconsin airport in Wausau, Wisconsin. This was American Airlines flight 4478 and was headed out to Chicago O'Hare on July 9, 2021. Airline pilots calculate the required thrust based on a number of inputs such as aircraft specs, atmospheric and weather conditions, aircraft weight, runway length, etc to determine the amount of thrust required for takeoff. A reduced thrust takeoff is almost always used because it extends the life of the engines. For this short field, however, the pilot chose to engaged the brake, apply full thrust, and then release the brake for a maximum performance takeoff due to the resulting calculations.
