When It Is Hard to Forgive (The Seventh Time) | Morning Prayer

📖 “...if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, and says, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.” – Luke 17:4
✨ Forgiving once is hard. Forgiving the same person again feels impossible, foolish, and deeply unfair. When we are hurt repeatedly, our hearts don't just break; they harden. But Jesus gives us a supernatural standard that is far beyond our human instinct.
In this challenging morning prayer, we confront the difficulty of repeated forgiveness. We learn that this command is not something we do in our own strength; it is a miracle we ask for.
✅ We do not forgive from a place of superiority; we forgive from a place of shared humanity—as one who has been forgiven an unpayable, ten-thousand-talent debt (Matthew 18).
✅ Forgiveness is a choice of the will, not an emotion. It is an act of obedience.
✅ Forgiveness is not the same as reconciliation or trust. It is the act of cutting the chain of bitterness to free ourselves.
✅ We must ask God for a supernatural miracle to soften our stony hearts and heal our memories.
💡 Perhaps you are facing your "seventh time" offense from someone today. Remember this truth: You are not letting them "win"; you are letting yourself be free.
