Route 1 - Moncton to Saint John, New Brunswick - Toronto to Halifax #18 - 2024/39

Toronto to Halifax, Video #18. We drive along Route 1 between the two largest cities in New Brunswick: Moncton and Saint John, driving via Sussex. Route 1 was fully converted to a freeway in the 2000s-2010s, after the Route 2 freeway was completed between Moncton and Fredericton in 2001. We also drive into Saint John, located on the Bay of Fundy via the Saint John Throughway, which opened in the 1960s, crossing over the Saint John Harbour Bridge (1968).

Route 1 is a highway in the southern part of the Canadian province of New Brunswick. It begins in the west from the Canada–United States border at St. Stephen, and runs east for 239.11 kilometres (148.58 mi) to Route 2 at River Glade.

The entire highway is a 4-lane controlled-access freeway. It is one of the most important highways in the province, carrying traffic from the American border at St. Stephen, through the City of Saint John, ending with an interchange with the Trans Canada Highway at Riverglade.
