As part of the Bhagavad-gita Musical Chants series, ISKCON Bangalore is releasing the musical chanting of 18 chapters and 700 shlokas of the Bhagavad-gita, encouraging viewers of all ages to recite the Gita and follow its teachings to make this human life a success.

Chapter 3 Summary:
Krishna says action is better than inaction, and when all work is offered to the Him, it does not bind one to the material world. Even enlightened souls continue to act, setting the right example for others, because true renunciation means performing one’s duty without attachment and offering the results to Him. Such work purifies the heart and leads one to the Supreme.

Krishna reveals that lust is a man’s eternal enemy, born of contact with the material modes. It impels a person to commit sinful acts by covering one’s pure consciousness. Residing in the mind and intelligence, it veils true knowledge. One must curb this lust by regulating the senses. By realizing that the soul is transcendental and higher than the intelligence, mind, and senses, one can conquer this insatiable force called lust.
