THEATRE OF HATE
British Post-Punk Band from London / England formed by singer-songwriter and guitarist Kirk Brandon in 1980 after splitting of his previous punk band The Pack. The original group also consisted of former members from other punk bands; The Straps, Crisis and The Epileptics. Theatre of Hate's first studio album 'Westworld' produced by Mick Jones of The Clash was released in February 1982, had seven week run in the UK Albums Chart but the band called it a day later in the year and Brandon went on to front Spear of Destiny. Theatre of Hate reformed in 1991 and continued with reunion tours, anniversary shows, released number of live and compilation albums as well as new studio recordings / LPs: 'Stone In The Rain' (retitled 'Retribution') in 1995, 'Kinshi' in 2016 and 'Utsukushi-sa (A Thing Of Beauty)' in 2020. Live performance at 'The Garage' in Islington / London, on Friday 3rd of October 2025, part of "80 : 25" tour to celebrate 45th Anniversary, playing their seminal debut album “Westworld” live and in-full, for the very first time and all the singles with associated B-sides.
