In this video, I talk about something a lot of people in Chicago see every day but are scared to talk about out loud — some of our Black kids in the city are acting disrespectful, reckless, and completely out of control. Not all kids, not every neighborhood, but it’s happening enough for everybody to notice.
From talking crazy to adults, running wild on the streets, no respect for elders, and acting like consequences don’t exist — Chicago is dealing with a real behavioral shift among its youth. And it’s deeper than “kids being kids.”
I break down what’s going on culturally, socially, and emotionally in our communities, and why so many young Black kids in Chicago feel disconnected, angry, or unstoppable. This isn’t about blaming — it’s about understanding the environment and why these behaviors keep growing.
