During my visit to Bauntha village, I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Anand Singh Rawat, who is also the Gram Pradhan of Bacheli village. He shared an insightful story about a boy who developed a deep interest in listening to the Bhagavad Gita after observing a simple but profound phenomenon in his household.

As he watched his mother lighting the firewood on an old-fashioned stove, he noticed that thinner wooden sticks burned quickly, while the thicker logs took longer to catch fire. This observation led him to reflect on life. He thought, “If I remain ignorant, I will be like the thin sticks, burning away quickly in the trials of life. But if I seek wisdom and spiritual growth through the Bhagavad Gita, I will become like the thick wooden log—resilient, steady, and not easily consumed by life’s challenges.”

This simple yet profound realization encouraged the boy to embrace spirituality, hoping to gain wisdom and strength in his journey.

उस लड़के ने अपनी माँ को पुराने चूल्हे में लकड़ी जलाते हुए देखा। उसने गौर किया कि पतली लकड़ियाँ जल्दी जल जाती हैं, जबकि मोटी लकड़ियाँ आग पकड़ने में ज्यादा समय लेती हैं। यह देखकर वह विचार करने लगा, “अगर मैं अज्ञान में रहा, तो मैं इन पतली लकड़ियों की तरह जल्दी जल जाऊँगा और जीवन के संघर्षों में कमजोर पड़ जाऊँगा। लेकिन अगर मैं भगवान और ज्ञान की ओर झुकाव रखूँ और भगवद गीता सुनूँ, तो मैं मोटी लकड़ी की तरह मजबूत बनूँगा, जिसे आसानी से जलाया नहीं जा सकता।”

इस छोटे से अवलोकन ने उसे आध्यात्मिकता की ओर प्रेरित किया, जिससे वह ज्ञान और जीवन में मजबूती प्राप्त करने के लिए भगवद गीता सुनने लगा।
