Aylinay

Ey eziz yurtum sening baghcha - sarayliringdin aylinay,
Zëpiran tüslük sening ghemkin cirayingdin aylinay.

Qoynungdiki altun - kümüshlük taghliringdin aylinay,
Köksüngdiki lexte - lexte qan daghliringdin aylinay.

Dëryayingda munglinip aqqan süyüngdin aylinay,
Qayghu - matem, ghemge cökken naxsha - küyüngdin aylinay.

Sumbul chachliq, qelemqashliq qizliringidin aylinay,
Aniliq dërdidë qalghan qan izliringdin aylinay.

Tili baghliq, dili daghliq sha'irliringdin aylinay,
Zöhrasi yoq natiwan tahirliringdin aylinay.

Aylinay yurtum aylinay, alimliringdin aylinay,
Tili yumshaq dili qattiq zalimliringdin aylinay !


ئایلىناي

ئهي ئهزىز یۇرتۇم سېنىڭ باغچا _ سارایلىرىڭدىن ئایلىناي ،
زەپىران تۈسلۈك سېنىڭ غهمكىن چىرایىڭدىن ئایلىناي .
قوینۇڭدىكى ئالتۇن _ كۈمۈشلۈك تاغلىرىڭدىن ئایلىناي ،
كۆكسۈڭدىكى لهخته _ لهخته قان داغلىرىڭدىن ئایلىناي .
دەریایىڭدا مۇڭلىنىپ ئاققان سۈیۈڭدىن ئایلىناي ،
قایغۇ _ ماتهم ، غهمگه چۆككهن ناخشا _ كۈیۈڭدىن ئایلىناي .
سۇمبۇل چاچلىق ، قهلهمقاشلىق قىزلىرىڭىدىن ئایلىناي ،
ئانىلىق دەردىدە قالغان قان ئىزلىرىڭدىن ئایلىناي .
تىلى باغلىق ، دىلى داغلىق شائىرلىرىڭدىن ئایلىناي ،
زۆھراسى یوق ناتىۋان تاھىرلىرىڭدىن ئایلىناي .
ئایلىاي یۇرتۇم ئایلىناي ، ئالىملىرىڭدىن ئایلىناي ،

Abdurehim Tileshüp Ötkür (May 1923 – October 1995) was a popular Uyghur author and poet who is considered the "father of modern Uyghur poetry".
Ötkür was born in Kumul to a merchant family. His mother died when he was one year old and his father followed when he was four. Before his death, his father Tileş Begim gave Ötkür to his friend Osman Hacı for adoption. Osman Hacı, who didn't have a child of his own, was a prominent resident of Kumul who ensured his adopted son had a good education.
From 1979 to his death, Ötkür worked as a scholar and administrator in the Institute of Literature Studies at the Academy of Philosophy and Social Sciences. In 1988, he was appointed as a Vice Chairman of the Society of Kutadgu Bilig Studies.

The poem expresses the author's admiration for the wonderful nature of the homeland on the one hand, but on the other hand, it profoundly expresses the author's regret and sorrow for the sufferings of his homeland. The word "Aylinay" is very well used and perfectly explains the content of the poem by using multiple meanings of the word.

On March 20, 2019, Harvard president Lawrence Bacow recited a stanza of Ötkür's poetry during his speech promoting the values of free speech and academic freedom at Peking University, one of China's top universities. His recitation of Ötkür's poetry was significant given the Chinese government's repression of Uyghurs.
