Trains at Derby - 06/04/2023

Filmed on 06/04/2023. Onwards for the second of our Freight-Tastic day along the Midland Mainline brings us to the home of East Midlands Railway of its depot of Etches Park, a place where the S Stock was built for the London Underground and also for brand new trains built. Yes, this is Derby (Season 10 Episode 8)

One of the key changes at Derby is the temporally decrease in Cross Country services linking between Nottingham to Birmingham New Street and beyond to Cardiff. The reason for this is due to engineering works which has been taking place so an hourly service between Nottingham and Cardiff Central runs and not their shuttle services.

Plenty of passenger traffic mostly from East Midlands Railway and Cross Country Trains of Voyagers, Turbostar's and Meridians. The daily Northern service which used to run Leeds to Nottingham via Derby now no longer operates. East Midlands Railway has put on additional compacity in action for their Sheffield/Nottingham to London ST Pancras diagrams on some of their trains.
