Fame: That Longing for Acknowlegement

I just hit 500 YouTube subscribers.
Part of me wants to celebrate. Another part knows how ridiculous it is to care about that number.
Some of us check our phones constantly, counting likes and views like kids counting birthday cards.
Social media or not, we're all searching to be known, to be seen, to hear someone say "you did good!." But what can look like shallow narcissism might run deeper.
What if that longing isn't wrong—just misdirected?
Kids misbehave in class to get attention. Street racers endanger themselves and others. And some people are way into cosmetics. All to get noticed.
Psalm 139 says God has searched us and knows us. He knew us before we were born. He knows our words before we speak them. The fame we're really after is fame with God. To be known by the One who knows us best. To hear "well done, good and faithful servant"—not someday, but now, in the middle of ordinary faithfulness.
God doesn't care about my 500 subscribers. He cares about my faithfulness in communicating his word.
And here's the flip side: if I want fame with God, I should also want to make God famous. That's what Psalm 34 is about—blessing the Lord at all times, making His name known.
So yeah, I'm glad you're here. If this resonates with you, maybe you'll be number 501. But either way, let's chase the kind of honor that actually matters.
