Japan plans to sharply increase fees for residency and visa applications, aiming for European and US price levels, starting next fiscal year.
Residency renewal fees could rise to ¥30,000-¥40,000, and permanent residency fees could exceed ¥100,000. For now, the renewal fee is ¥6000, and the permanent residency fee is ¥10,000
As per Japanese media, the government will seek to amend the Immigration Control Act next year. The increased revenue will fund better integration support for the record-high foreign population and boost measures against illegal overstays. #africa #japan #news
