Hey, hey, reader. Do you like powerviolence, fastcore, any of that sort of stuff?
“Duuhhhh, yes, I like the powerviolence n’ fastcore very muuuuccch.”
Yeah, I’m sure you do. Now, tell me, what is it about those types of subgenres that you like so much?
“Duhh, I like them ‘cause it’s real faaaaast.”
That all?
“Duuuuhhh...”
Alright, you can stop there, I’m kinda afraid that you’re gonna hurt yourself. I understand that rational thinking isn’t your sort of thing; you’re more of a, uhh, I dunno, clawing-at-jingling-keys kind of person, right? But look, I’m gonna tell you something that MIGHT hurt to think about, something that might be a little bit too difficult for someone of your, uh, “simpleminded stature” to process. You sitting down? Because you really should be sitting down for this. Yes, booster seats count. No, I’m not gonna jingle my keys at you. No, I’m not gonna let you suck on my finger you weirdo--look, just shut the fuck up for a second and let me raise a question to you: what if I were to tell you that there’s this one band down in Australia, a band that’s been scientifically-proven to be the FASTEST band of all time? Crazy to think about, I know. And what if I were to tell you that band was the one that you’re listening to RIGHT now? Oh, shit, you alright? You’re kinda convulsing there—oh, that’s just what you do when you’re excited, got it.
That’s right, Gee Tee is THE fastest band on the planet, there’s no arguing that. I’m serious, scientific communities from around the globe have confirmed this, all sharing the exact same conclusion: Gee Tee is fast as fuck. No, not just fast, VERY fast—that’s one step up from normal fast, in case you’re not aware (you’re probably aren’t). Impressive, right? I mean, there’s a lot of bands on this planet, as far as I can tell; gauging from the amount of videos that I’ve posted, there’s at LEAST 300 bands on Earth, so again, it’s hella impressive to be definitively-labeled as “The Fastest Band on Earth™”. Now, I know what you’re thinking: not much, as always. But if anything, you’re probably thinking something along the lines of “bu-bu-but Gee Tee doesn’t sound very faaassst.” Well, of course they don’t, that’s because they’re pulling back the punches, for your sake. If Gee Tee were to hit the gas and whole-heartedly blast some ass, your mind would fucking melt from trying to process the unimaginable speeds that their music can reach. And from the looks of it, your brain’s practically already mush, so Gee Tee’s gonna spare you. You ever hear a song that plays at 1,000 BPM? Fuck that, try 10,000 BPM. I mean, c’mon, did you really expect a band called “Gee Tee” to be slow?
What makes this project so impressive is the fact that it was all put together by one guy, who I guess I should refer to as “Kel”. He’s down in the Gold Coast, way down in Australia; y’know, the county that only exists because they needed a barren piece of land to drop off all the undesirables. Kel’s in an actual band called Draggs, which is an obscure, synth-infused garage rock four-piece that I may get to covering at a later point in time. That group’s debut cassette, “Slime Street” (https://pissfartrecords.bandcamp.com/..., is downright insane, and I highly recommend that you check it out before the group releases their upcoming EP (here’s a teaser track for said EP: / i-c-the-scum . According to Kel, that EP’s gonna be “pre jacked”, so get hyped on that.
