Railfanning Surfrider Way - 3/7/15

After railfanning at Oceanside Boulevard, I decided to wrap up my day by railfanning at the Surfrider Way crossing just north of the Oceanside Transit Center. Amazingly, the space for the right of way through this crossing was much narrower than I expected, but it made up with some great shots and awesome horn action from the engineers !

Train 1 : Metrolink Deadhead with CabCar #677 & F59PH #852. This train set will serve as the northbound Metrolink #860.

Train 2 : Metrolink #860 with F59PH #852 & CabCar #677.

Train 3 : Amtrak 580 with F59PHI #456 & CabCar #6906. Looks like #456 got back from Beech Grove ! A very clean, and nice sounding locomotive !

Train 4 : Amtrak 785 with CabCar #6908 & F59PHI #459. This engineer was just laying on the horn with some awesome K5LA action through the crossing !

Train 5 : Metrolink #667 with CabCar #656 & MP36PH-3C #889. This engineer was going track speed through this switch with some nice horn action as well !

Train 6 : Amtrak 582 with P42DC #192 & CabCar #6952. Nice K5LA and horn action on #192 !

Train 7 : Metrolink #666 with F59PH #868 & CabCar #692. This train was coming in quite hot !

Train 8 : Metrolink Deadhead with CabCar #692 & F59PH #868. Nice horn action from the engineer on #692.

Train 9 : Amtrak 784 with F59PHI #458 & CabCar #6904.

Train 10 : Amtrak 591 with CabCar #6906 & F59PHI #456. The engineer on #6906 is just laying on the K5LA on the entire horn sequence !
