In a strong show of solidarity, various social and religious organizations in Poonch came together under the banner of Sanatan Dharam Sabha to protest against atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. The protest began at Shri Geeta Bhawan Poonch, passed through Main Bazar City Chowk and Daruni Bazar, and culminated near Poonch Fort. It was sparked by the brutal burning of a Hindu in Bangladesh, reflecting ongoing persecution against the Hindu community.
Kheterpal Sharma, President of Sanatan Dharam Sabha Poonch, led the demonstration and demanded urgent intervention by the Indian Government. He called for immediate action to ensure the safety of Hindus in Bangladesh and requested India to provide refuge to those fleeing religious persecution.
A large number of locals, along with members of social, political, and religious organizations, participated in the protest, raising slogans demanding justice and security for the victims. Local leaders and religious heads expressed solidarity and urged the international community to take notice of the atrocities.
