FERRY RIDE From Howrah Station to Armenian Ghat | A Short Kolkata Ferry Ride | Kolkata Ferry

The Kolkata ferry service offers one of the quicker ways for commuters to travel from one bank of the River Hooghly to the other, primarily between Howrah and Kolkata.

Daily ferry services run between the major ghats of Kolkata, namely Chandpal Ghat, Fairlie Place Ghat, Ahiritola Ghat, Armenian Ghat, Sovabazar Ghat, Bagbazar Ghat, etc. The main ghats in the Howrah side are Howrah Station, Golabari Ghat, Ramkrishnapur Ghat and Bandha Ghat. There are many other popular ghats which had ferry services but they were closed down due to various reasons.

The video was shot in an April evening while travelling from Howrah Station to Kolkata and the shortest route to reach Kolkata is taking a ferry from Howrah Station Ghat to Armenian Ghat (also called Armani Ghat or Bara Bazar Ghat). Ticket price is only 6 INR and the journey took around 5 to 7 minutes.
