Rocky and stone village in Iran: Kandovan

Kandavan village is one of the most famous and amazing natural, cultural and ancient attractions of East Azarbaijan province of Iran. Because the village of Kandavan is the only inhabited rocky village in the world. There are only two other similar and stone villages in the world, one of them is in the city of Cappadocia, Turkey, and the other is in the village of Dakota, America, but with the difference that these rocky villages are empty. They are inhabited.
Kandavan village with a history of 7,000 years is located in the city of Skoi, Tabriz.
The beehive and stilt houses of this village are located in the heart of the mountain, which are completely the result of natural processes that were formed by the volcanic interactions of Sahand mountains without any human intervention. One of the interesting things about Kandavan village is that its houses look like beehives and the souvenir of the village is natural honey! Completely traditional houses, cheerfulness and serenity of the village, warm and kind local people, delicious and varied souvenirs, clear and mineral water of Kandavan are among the reasons why tourists from all over the world travel to this village.
Another name for the houses of Kale Ghandi is Karan, which are more than two stories, but sometimes they are three and four stories, where the ground floor is a stable, the first floor is residential, the second floor is a guest room, and the third floor is a storage room.
As in the past, the people of the village live inside the stone houses dug into the rocks, and for this reason, Kandavan is considered one of the living examples of rock architecture and is still inhabited in the world, which has a population of 600 people.
