Size. Power. Spirit. This my friends, is the real deal. The pride of Nishonoseki beya, Onosato makes his sekitori debut with style, destroying damn near all of Juryo in his third career basho. Most matches lasting less than 5 seconds, the competition disintegrated beneath his aggressive, unstoppable momentum. Remaining undefeated until day 10, he was finally taken down by eventual title winner Ichiyamamoto, and while two more defeats followed, all of them of them were from last second sideswipes or equally desperate positions, with Onosato otherwise dominating the bout.

Mark my words, this is only the beginning. While Hakuoho was deservedly lauded for his remarkable entry onto the pro sumo stage, I feel even more confident in saying Onosato will become a name synonymous with greatness in the sport. Cheers!
