Pt. 1 Maxon Auxiliary Fan Install 3,000 CFM - 1977 Ford F-150

Hey guys, its time to remove the original mechanical fan and add an electric one. I upgraded alternators from its original 60 amp to 140amp which will allow more performance of the electrical fan, plus some other additional electrical components that I added.

This Fan Kit was purchased off of Amazon for $60 and comes with everything you see here in the video. The only two items that did not was the temperature sensor housing and sensor. The sensor that came in the package was too large at 3/8 and I need 1/4.





This has made a huge different not just cooling the truck but also the over all performance. No more parasitic power loss due to the mechanical fan. Yay!



This setup is nice because now if I was to be in traffic, a drive-thru, or see that the engine temperature is rising then once the sensor read 200 degree it will send a signal to the relay and kick on the fan. Even better when the truck is off the fans stay on until it cools down to 170 degrees then shuts off.
