North and parallel to the river Dordogne, the Balcony Road D43 passed for about 2 km a short but interesting piece on the river and on a steep face. Westward, the road then climbs and one has a good view over the walnut orchards and the river valley. The road starts at the Pont de Gluges north of Montvalent at a hamlet called La Tuilerie and ends at the junction with the D23 at Le Colombier. The road is easy to drive on; oncoming traffic should be watched out for in the western part. The road is located in the Lot department in the Occitanie region.
This route belongs to the so-called "French Balcony Roads".
