1994-1996 Chevy Caprice 9C1, 1K5 low (1st) gear lockout

If you own a 94-96 Chevy Caprice 9C1 car that cannot be manually shifted to 1st gear, this is your solution.
Cause: RPO Code 1K5.
Three mitigation options:
1) Delete the bracket shown in the video.
2) Remove bolts and relocate the bracket 1-2 holes to the rear and reinstall bolts. Note that the bolts may be longer, so move the bolts with the bracket.
3) Leave it in place for posterity and bend it down approximately 1/2-3/4" (2-3 cm) with an appropriate tool. This is the easiest option.
Please observe all safety precautions when working under a car. Use a jack and a jackstand, chock the wheels, etc.
