I’ve been playing with this engine again over the last few days to try and improve its running.
I added some of the little improvements as per Find Hanson's video (thank you very much Mr Hanson). So far I have only added improvements to the pump and governor.
The injector still needs work! I have ordered some materials to have a go at making my own injector as the original injector has showed little improvement with the alterations I have done to it.
The engine is still smoking and blowing a lot of fuel out the exhaust so I installed a makeshift liquids catcher and an extension to the exhaust to run it outside so I don’t smoke myself out in my little workshop.
I’m now able to run the engine for longer periods of time so tonight I thought I would do a bit of an endurance test. I maintained a set rpm for 5 min then slowly increased the speed then held again for another 5 min and so on. I think it still had a little more top end speed to go but I didn’t see the sense in pushing it any further. Maybe if the flywheel was balanced a little better…
