🚗 From the polluted air of Delhi NCR (AQI ~800 😷) to fresh mountain air with AQI just 20!
This was our unforgettable family road trip from Kotdwar to Tarkeshwar Dham, nestled in the beautiful hills near Lansdowne, Uttarakhand. The drive itself was stunning — winding mountain roads, fresh breeze, lush forests and breathtaking views. 🌲🏔️

📍 Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple is a serene Shiva temple located at around 1,800 m above sea level surrounded by dense cedar and pine forests — truly a peaceful spiritual escape from city chaos. 

✨ Highlights from the trip:
• Scenic uphill drive through the mountains 🚘
• Beautiful weather and crystal-clean air 🌤️
• Reaching the temple easily by road — very accessible 🙌
• Saw a beautiful tree shaped like a Trishul (trident) near the temple, which made the moment even more divine! 🌳🔱
• A lovely family experience filled with smiles, nature, and tranquillity 💕

🛕 Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and has a rich mythological background linked with the legend of Tarkasur, a demon who meditated here to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings, and later the temple was named after him. The temple is known for its calm atmosphere, spiritual vibes, and amazing natural beauty around it.
