Abstract:
Axions are hypothetical particles originally introduced to understand why time-reversal (T) is an accurate symmetry of fundamental interactions. It turns out that axions also have the right properties to supply the cosmological “dark matter”. Axions are predicted to interact very feebly with ordinary matter, so they will be challenging to detect, but I’ll describe a promising strategy to do it.
