A beautiful day with around 15 members of the SUP Melbourne crew. We launched from Eastern Beach around 8am. By this time the wind had started to pick up and was coming from the south west, pushing waves across the, bay to Geelong.
The original plan had been to paddle to Rippleside Park and back, however our experienced organisers decided it would be safer for the group to head west, parallel to the shore.
It was still pretty hard yakka though and the waves felt MUCH bigger than they looked on video - kind of like those images you see of ships in heavy waves crashing over the bow!
After a couple f kilometres we pulled up at a boat ramp for a breather in the calm & sheltered water then headed back.
