[I'm LIVE] MACGUFFIN (맥거핀) & Sinpa (신파)

Joining us on this week's I'm LIVE is the band MACGUFFIN!

This band is composed of drummer SNOOQ, vocalist and guitarist Byeon Ha-geum, bassist UHI, and guitarist Bae Joon-il. The band is named after a technique of the same name that advances a film's plot, builds the narrative, and helps push the story forward, widely popularized by Alfred Hitchcock.

Back in 2017, the quartet participated in the Arirang Competition and won the Grand Prize with their unique interpretation of "Arirang." Then in 2018, they won the Golden Prize at the Penta Super Rookie and engraved their name in the minds of the public. The members recently completed their mandatory military duties and are so ready to impress listeners with their matured musicality.

실력 있는 뮤지션들과 공연을 사랑하는 시청자들의 사랑을 한 몸에 받고 있는 [I'm Live] 195회의 주인공 스타일리시한 Pop+Rock 밴드, 맥거핀이다.

2016년 [Curtain call]로 데뷔, 스눅(드럼), 변하금(보컬, 기타), 우히(베이스), 배준일(기타)로 구성된 4인조 록 밴드이다. 팀 이름 맥거핀은 히치콕 감독이 영화 "싸이코"에서 사용한 맥거핀 기법에서 따온 것으로, 관객의 호기심을 자극하며 기대심리를 배반하는 속임수를 뜻한다.

2017년 아리랑 창작곡 공모전에서 창작곡 [신파]로 최우수상, 2018년 KT&G에서 주관하는 2018 밴드 디스커버리 Top2, 2018 펜타 슈퍼루키에서 금상을 수상하며, 신인 밴드임에도 불구하고 평론가들에게 높은 음악성을 인정받으며 실력파 밴드로 자리매김하기 시작했다. 이후 2020년 엘지 WINGS 폰 광고음악 맥거핀의 곡 "busket list"가 삽입되며, 대중적 인지도 또한 천천히 쌓아가며 이제는 모두에게 알려질 밴드로 성장 중이다.

맥거핀은 [I’m Live] 무대를 통해 히트곡 ‘BUCKET LIST, ‘SINPA‘ 등을 선보일 예정이다. 통통 튀는 팝 감각과 록의 속도감을 합쳐낸 맥거핀의 매력이 유감없이 발휘되는 무대는 3월 12일 새벽 1시 아리랑TV에서 감상할 수 있다.
