In this video I set off to Woolaston Trout Fishery, with the goal of providing you with some winter tips, to catch the wiser fish. The bright colours work well for stocked fish and occasionally winkle out some big territorial fish, but if we want to be consistent, I often find drab colours are a much better selection. This will catch both stocked and resident fish as they aren’t so brash.
The conditions were against me, with a bitterly cold easterly wind and no recent stockings, I was going to have to take things back to basics to pull a few of the wiser fish out.
I had a great day fishing Woolaston and I hope you find the video both entertaining and resourceful.
