Part 1: Jaisalmer War Museum (JWM)
First, we head 10km outside the city to the Jaisalmer War Museum. Located on the Jodhpur-Jaisalmer Highway, this museum is a powerful tribute to the Indian Army’s bravery, specifically during the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak Wars.

Laungewala Hall: We explore the detailed displays of the famous Battle of Laungewala, where a handful of Indian soldiers held off a massive tank regiment.

The Artifacts: See real captured enemy tanks, a Hunter aircraft of the IAF, and the "Honour Wall" which lists the names of India's Param Vir Chakra and Maha Vir Chakra recipients.

Audio-Visual Experience: Don't miss the short documentary film in the AV room that brings the desert battles to life.

Part 2: Jaisalmer Fort (Sonar Quila)
Next, we step back 800 years in time. Built in 1156 AD by Rawal Jaisal, this is one of the world's "living forts"—meaning nearly 3,000 people still live, work, and thrive within these yellow sandstone walls.

The Gates: We enter through the four massive gateways (Ganesh Pol, Suraj Pol, Bhoota Pol, and Hawa Pol).

Architecture: Marvel at the intricate "jali" work and the golden glow of the sandstone that gives the fort its name.

Inside the Walls: We wander through narrow, winding lanes, visit the stunning Jain Temples with their world-class carvings, and take in the panoramic views of the city from the Canon Point.
