Lionel Crescent Ltd 8702 Rebuild Part 1 (Motor Unit)

This is Part 1 of rebuilding my dad’s Crescent Limited 8702 steam locomotive. This steamy needed work done after years of neglect so I decided to take the whole thing apart to find any and all issues with it so it can run like new again with TMCC operation and a new sound card. The major issue is with the Pullmor Motor squealing and heavy brush wear after each run. After reading Robert Hannons book, I thought the motor was over lubricated but a detected wire short in the armature slightly delayed the rebuild. I will have to get some ideas on how to correct this and ensure the longevity of the Crescent locomotive while upgrading its cosmetic look.
