We had a Bermudaful first day! We were very lucky to find our guide for the day, Lee Raynor, former professional cricket player. Lee showed us much of the island starting with the world’s smallest draw bridge. From there we said hello to the turtles at Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo supported by Bermuda Zoological Society, had our first rum swizzle at Swizzle Inn Bermuda, and saw some of the other sights on our way to St. George’s. We had our first of five fish sandwiches of the trip at White Horse Pub & Restaurant, and it ended up being our favorite of this trip. A Bermuda fish sandwich is traditionally made with fried wahoo, coleslaw, tomato, lettuce, and tartar sauce on toasted raisin bread, delicious! After lunch, and some shopping, we hit the road again. The next stop was Jobson’s Cove, one of the most beautiful and idyllic beaches we have ever been to. This pink sand beach is out of the way from the busy tourist beaches, and has trails you can follow to more hidden cove beaches you can have almost all to yourself. After a quick dip we hit the road again to Gibbs Hill Lighthouse. After a fun day with Lee we quenched our thirst at Frog And Onion Pub and Dockyard Brewing Company. The beer, atmosphere, and service were great, but this fish sandwich was the least favorite of the trip. After exploring the port area a bit longer, we headed back to Carnival Cruise Line Venezia to get cleaned up for the evening ahead. #carnivalcruise #carnivalvenezia #bermuda #adventurewithholmies
