Reporter Darshna Soni talks to the growing movement of students, journalists and activists who believe migrants are a threat to their safety.
For the first time last year, the far-right National Rally party shook France and secured 33% of the vote in the first round of parliamentary elections. With growing support from women, a new breed of so-called Femo-nationalists are waging a fight for the soul of French feminism.
Near Sorbonne University in Paris Soni meets student Kaïna Méné, who’s tearing down left-wing posters protesting the war in Gaza to be replaced with those of her student group, who believe immigration is a threat to women’s safety.
Soni tracks down one controversial group called the Nemesis Collective, who often stage protests against migration and are linked to groups in the UK associated with far-right extremist Tommy Robinson.
When Soni’s attempts to question Alice Cordier, the group’s founder, she’s met with a hostile reception. Just the first in a series of evasive encounters with the activist.
