Backpacking the impressive Sipsey Wilderness in Northwest Alabama I start on a ten mile loop that includes the site of the largest tree in the state.
Unfortunately the wild, rugged terrain took me a lot longer to negotiate than I anticipated and I was unable to complete the loop. Essentially I got served pretty well by the Sipsey!
I met some cool people, had a great adventure and learned a few things. I'll definitely be back to this trail.
