Planting 101: Scrub and Waste areas

In this video, we'll look at planting scrub or waste areas such as you might find in dry areas e.g. Desert, Sandbelt.

Key pointers for all planting:
1) TAKE YOUR TIME. This took c. 45 mins.
2) Check from multiple angles
3) Keep zooming back to the tee (consider multiple tees)
4) Aim to get your scaling right - not too big, not too small. Use tips 2 and 3 here.
5) When choosing trees and bushes, pay attention to: colour, leaf pattern (particularly if sinking), size and how well it renders at distance.
6) Check against previous planting for consistency. Doesn't need to be identical, but similarities are good.
7) Try to group similar objects, trees or bushes. Things tend to grow together - don't do the 'one of every colour/shape' approach.
8) Delete things when they aren't right. Know when to change tack.

Waste/Scrub planting steps as follows:
1) Work scrub out from a tree line by sinking trees much further than you think
2) With a number of your trees that are in the open, try to expose trunks and limbs.
3) Plant grasses in a linear fashion moving out from the treeline and around the scrub. Keep it random-ish.
4) Add some feature grasses and plants for colour. Don't overdo this: they are highlights, not the main features.
