In this video we take a closer look at replacing the metal for the lower door post on our VW Beetle. The metal behind the skin was really rusty on our 1971 Super Beetle and we needed to replace the entire section with a large replacement panel. We cut away all the bad metal from the lower door post and the inner wheel well and then replaced it with fresh tin!
Once you cut away the old metal you can see how the two pieces come together at the seam. Take your time like we did and analyze how everything fits together. Having a better understanding of how the Bug was put together originally will help you in the long run.
This video is not a "How to" video but simply showcases what I did to repair my own Beetle. Hopefully you will find some of it helpful.
