We hit a nearshore reef just 2 miles off Sarasota, and the gag grouper bite was on fire. It turned into one of those nonstop-action days — steady gags, hard hits, lots of cut-offs, and plenty of grunts mixed in.
This is the type of quick trip that makes living on the Gulf worth it. No long runs… just anchor up and boom, the fish are there.
