Using your favorite virtual drum set (or plugin) in Ableton Live can be cumbersome, especially if special midi note assignments are required. This is particularly important for drum software plugins that often come with their specific mappings.

In this video I explain how you can setup the Ableton Live drum rack in a way that you control a virtual drum kit which is hosted by a different channel. This is one way how you can use Ableton Live together with a pad controller such as Ableton Push 2 or Novation Launchpad Pro with your favorite DAW: Ableton Live!
