We enjoyed a wonderful evening of deep dialogue as two of America’s most prominent public intellectuals take the stage together at The Lit, sponsored by the Ford Presidential Foundation.
Philosopher and activist Dr. Cornel West and conservative legal scholar Professor Robert P. George will present the idea, “If we follow our virtues and guiding principles, the disagreements among us will better take care of themselves.”
West and George will explore how character, integrity, and a commitment to shared values can guide us through challenging moments—both personally and as a community. Through thoughtful dialogue and meaningful connection, we’ll consider how returning to our core principles can open the door to greater understanding.
These longtime friends and ideological opposites will examine how we can heal our divided nation, challenge each other’s perspectives, and model how respectful discourse can illuminate a path forward together.
This is a rare opportunity to witness meaningful conversation across divides – and to reflect on what it means to pursue a more perfect union.
